Activity: Started working on project C
Notes:
After a research on mobile games, I have found a game that inspired me to create my own game for project C. When I came up with the design, I tried to implement collisions, but I got stuck with trigger colliders not firing. After a while of googling and reading documentation I found the bug, and finished the core game interactions.
I had problems finding free assets that fitted my theme and were at least a bit similar to each other. I found two asset packs that could be combined together, but I am still lacking a few artworks and all of the sounds.
When I found tilemap I liked, I did not know how to create a tilemap from the sprite I found, but the process was quite straightforward.
Invested Hours:
1 hour - searching for suitable game to "recreate" + coming up with my own theme/twist
2 hours - coming up with game object design and scenes in the game
1 hour - creating Unity project with the game objects with placeholder sprites
10 hours - coding a main game loop, core of the game
1 hour - looking for suitable sprites on itch.io, Unity asset store and opengameart.org
2 hours - learning how to import pixel art sprites correctly (they were blurry), how to create a tile palette from tilemap and assigning sprites to the game objects
